Personal Training Tips
Having a thought to do something about your overall health & fitness is the first step to doing something about it. Taking action is the second. Calling a Personal Training studio is a great way to start if you are unsure what to do. However, many people when they first came to a Personal Training Studio are really motivated and excited to start their workout routine. This is great, but problems can occur if expectations are too high. Unrealistic goals, hoping to get dramatic results in a couple of workouts, just doesn’t happen. You can’t reverse years of physical and nutritional neglect in a few weeks.
The mind is willing but the body just can’t respond that quickly. Ideas, decisions, insights are popping up in our minds all the time. Our body doesn’t work at the same speed, and for any new action our body needs to adapt and adaption takes time.
The key is patience and consistency. Patience does not come easily to most of us and it's probably harder now to be patient than historically it has ever been. When it comes to physical results, being patient is a necessity to achieve your goals.
Consistency is an aspect of discipline, i.e. the ability to stick to a routine. For some people, it is an easy thing to do, but for others it is not. Committing to a fitness programme means mapping out a plan for an activity or a series of activities that can be done with consistency. Excitement about working out and jumping right in is great but it does need to be sustained with a long-term plan in place or some thought into the fitness activity that works for you. There is often a drop off in enthusiasm, resulting in inconsistency.
A little and often will have enormous benefits. All you have to do is start getting some 20 minutes’ simple activities every day. Regular workouts increase your fitness levels, improves your health and will generate a greater sense of mental well-being.
